Is a time of change
Of one’s attitude
Of one’s thinking
To become a better person as meant to be.

Is a time of prayer
Of deep encounter
Of deep relationship
With God who suffers for you and me.

Is a time of almsgiving
For those in disgrace
For those in need
To share what we have generously.

Is a time of fasting
From what we always want
From food or anything and the like
To experience giving up what we love.

Is a time of letting go
Of one’s pride
Of one’s selfishness
To let God come into our lives.

Come, Jesus, come
Purify your friend and servant
Work in me, with me and through me
Make me an instrument of your love.
