Two thousand years and more
When Jesus appeared in the upper room
And when He ascended into heaven
Jesus gave peace to His disciples
Gift of peace they received
They shared to all people in their time
And there was great rejoicing among them
They felt the presence of God’s love and affection
The spark of peace from God
Gave courage to the disciples
To proclaim the Good News of Jesus
That brings love, faith and healing
What spark of gift we receive
A challenge to open our hearts
Listen and give space to God
The source of true peace and love
Experiences of sickness and doubt
Chance to lift our eyes
To hope for the life He offers
Life of faith and love to God
Jesus grant us the gift of peace
That brings courage
Healing, consolation
And everlasting joy to all. Amen.
