“In her Immaculate Heart, I see, engraved with golden characters, all the words uttered by our Lord Jesus Christ. I consider how true is the saying of the evangelist St. Luke, Mary, on her side was persevering all these things and meditating them in her heart (Lk 2;19,51). Thus it is impossible for us not to find imprinted in her heart, with heavenly characters, the words coming from the divine zeal of the Heart of Jesus: Pray therefore to the Lord of the Harvest to send workers into His Harvest. Indeed Mary Most Holy accepted this divine command in her Immaculate Heart and accomplished it.” — St Annibale Maria Di Francia, Mary, Queen and Mother of Evangelical Rogation
I call December the month that is full of joy and excitement because there are many important dates here that are highlighted with great celebrations. The 8th of December is one of the most grandest celebrations because it is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. Here, Mary’s significant Fiat or Yes became flesh and dwelt among us. Her humble yes was pure, without any reservation, and in total obedience to the will of the Father. It is in her yes that we find the expression of her love of the Lord, for the salvation of humankind. Her single yes was multiplied and recounted the many yeses she gave in her life. Her fearless yes to love the Lord becomes an inspiration to all of us to learn from her how she loves God so intimately and with a total love. Let us continue to look at Mary and unite our daily yeses with her in doing God’s will for us. Her Fiat is the yes of many people who love Mary and who continue to follow God’s Son, Jesus, because Mary is the surest way to love Jesus.
Mary’s heart sings a melodious, joyful song of love (Luke 1:46-55) as she thanks the Lord for the greatness of His Love. She inspires us to put our trustful heart into God’s hands. Her pure and simple heart burns with zeal for the love of God.
Prayer to Our Lady Immaculate
Most holy Virgin,
who wast pleasing to the Lord and became His Mother,
immaculate in body and spirit, in faith and in love,
look kindly on the wretched who implore thy powerful patronage.
The wicked serpent, against whom was hurled the first curse,
continues fiercely to attack and ensnare the unhappy children of Eve.
Do thou, then, O Blessed Mother, our queen and advocate,
who from the first instant of thy conception didst crush the head of the enemy,
receive the prayers which, united with thee in our single heart,
we implore thee to present at the throne of God,
that we may never fall into the snares which are laid out for us,
and may all arrive at the port of salvation;
and, in so many dangers, may the Church and Christian society
sing once again the hymn of deliverance and of victory and of peace. Amen.
In Thy conception, O Virgin Mary, thou wast immaculate; pray for us to the Father, Whose Son, Jesus Christ conceived of the Holy Ghost, thou didst bring forth. Amen.
