A love that burns in my heart

Jesus said: “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” (John 15:9); “I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” (John 17:23)

There is always a purpose for our life as mysteriously planned by God. We exist because He loves us. I have a number of memorable events to mark today, 08 December.  It is:

  • the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception (see my earlier post I love the Lord),
  • my 50th – golden – year of life on earth,
  • the 20th year of my religious profession, and
  • the 14th death anniversary of my Mother.

Counting the years of my journey of prayer, faith, hope and love,  I thank God for everything He has done in my life. He has accompanied me since I was in the womb of my Mother and He continues to this day to form me with His love and compassion.

The Lord has showed me many ways to direct my life towards following Him. It is His love that keeps burning in my heart every time I contemplate Him. It is the same love that I have felt ever since I came to know Him. He lets me feel that I am His forever love. It is so inspiring to think that I am one of His chosen and special. He is always in everything that I am searching for and I am particularly inspired by this passage:

“You have seduced me Lord, and I have let myself be seduced” (Jeremiah 20:7)

Now I am still here which gives me the chance to celebrate Jesus’ faithfulness with me. He is always giving me inspirations to continue facing many challenges in my life’s journey. He never gives up on me, in spite of my human limitations, weaknesses and sinfulness. He is the faithful one whose love is infinite and everlasting.  I always end up finding myself with Him every time I feel disconnected from Him because, ultimately, He is always present in my heart, knocking and waiting for me to recognise His very essence and presence.

Jesus is the one who finds me when I am lost. He is true,  absolutely true to His love offering to me. I really feel sorry for the many times I have hurt God due to my weaknesses – and He never abandons nor forgets me.  I truly believe in His love. He remembers me always because He claims me as His own; I belong to Him.

In another passage from the scriptures that inspires me, I would like to add my name to personalise it – it is so sweet sounding for me to hear it:

But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Cielo,
he who formed you, Cielo:
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you Cielo;
Cielo I have summoned you by name;
Cielo you are mine.  (Isaiah 43)

Why don’t you choose a passage from the bible and add your name – see how it affects your heart and soul.

Yes, it is good to listen to God’s voice in my heart. And together with Mary I am uniting my Yes to Him and sharing my joy in celebrating this special year of His love and presence in my life. He has indeed chosen me to be His own. He created me out of His love.

Thank you God for Your grace and mercy that helps to sustain me on my journey.  I continue to pray for the gift of wisdom to do your will and that I may have a more humble heart to answer Your call each day of my journey. With all my heart, I thank you Lord for everything!
