The new year has come

Our Lady, Mother MaryYear 2016 is over. We recall and thank the Lord for the journey we have been on, even with all our ups and downs, it has been blessed by the Lord. We have enjoyed those blissful moments and we have felt sorry for whatever we have done wrong in those messy moments.

Now 2017 is here. We welcome it with an open heart and prepare ourselves for what we want to improve in our life. It is again another opportunity to live this year with commitment, giving us the chance to live in God’s love, mercy and compassion. We see the things we need to improve further in our life, with purpose, quality and contentment. We need to ask God to help us to better live our journey of faith, hope and love.

To love is a forever commitment. We are born for love and live for love. In the end God will ask us how much we have loved and we shall be judged according to how much we put love into everything – it is the main reason why we have this life.  It is good to live in God’s love. St. Paul understood the real meaning of love, as shown is his letter to the Corinthians:

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly,[b] but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.

And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-13)

Let us, then, radiate the love of God with faith and hope. Make your plan for the whole year that is achievable; make it something doable… that you are able to make it with a faithful heart.

May you enjoy the start of your journey, this 2017, with a renewed spirit accompanied by Our Lady, Mary who continues to lead us to love God’s Son, Jesus Christ!
