Palm Sunday began Holy Week. Today we pause to reflect on the imminent Easter Triduum.
The Easter Triduum of the Passion and Resurrection of the Lord begins with the evening Mass “of the Lord’s Supper”, it has at its centre the Easter Vigil and it concludes with Vespers of Easter Sunday.
The Easter Triduum, for the centrality of the mystery celebrated, the Passover of Christ, constitutes the heart of the liturgical year.
“It is the Most Holy Triduum of the crucified, dead and risen Christ.” — St. Augustine
(United in Prayer, p.179)
