The passion of the heart

Today is the last day of our Triduum of Reparation to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, in preparation for the season of Lent.

Pope Francis and the Blessed SacramentOver these three days, the triduum has been developing the theme of reparation and consolation in a double dimension towards Christ the head and towards its suffering members.

“Jesus was moved profoundly, he went to the tomb” (Jn. 11:38)

We contemplate in Jesus the passion of the heart that being a hidden passion, is greater than the physical one. While this can be measured by the visible sufferings caused by the flagellation, the nails, the falls, the cross… the passion of the heart, instead can only be revealed by the measure of His love as Man-God (cf. St. Annibale Maria)

Our Adorable Lord,
our God, Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament,
who in every celebration of the Eucharist,
offer Your precious Blood
for the remission of sins:
we thank You for this so beneficial
a gift that You offer us daily with infinite love.

For the intimate pains that You have experienced
in the face of our being unfaithful and lukewarm:
forget our past and
grant that with all our strength
we work zealously for Your honour and glory.
