A vocation to serve God is born only through prayer, and more specifically the prayer of contemplation by which it is recognized that “you are standing on holy ground.” The life of priesthood or consecration is a life lived on this “holy ground” of the Church. The example of Moses is held up to anyone who would open his heart to God and discover his call. Through Eucharistic Adoration the Christian has the opportunity to follow in Moses’ footsteps and encounter God in contemplation.
Jesus beckons us to discover him in adoration and reverence. As we look for an increase of vocations to the priesthood and religious life, there is a need to turn back to the mystery of the Eucharist, to this mysterious presence of God in our midst. This is truly the heart of Catholic priesthood and religious life.
